Bye-Bye Billy

Bill O’Reilly has been spouting lies, spin, innuendo, racism, bigotry, misogyny, and other assorted filth for 20 years. So why now? Fox brass knew about his millions of hush-money payouts yet evidently didn’t care as they signed him on for many more years of bilge-spouting for profit. What was the tipping point?

I don’t believe for a nano-second that advertiser boycotts or social media outrage was the primary reason. Nope. I look to the sky instead. As in, Sky News. Rupert Murdoch was thwarted in this total takeover bid in 2011 when the phone-hacking scandal of his ethics-challenged rags in the UK was throttling full-steam-ahead. Now, he’s trying to buy it again. You think the UK regulators who gave him the boot the first time will look kindly upon a corporation knowingly aiding and abetting an employee who buys the silence of multiple accusers? Whose brass have always looked the other way? The execrable Bill Shine, Roger Ailes’ trusted lieutenant, is still in charge there, right?

Imagine a world, if you will, without Murdoch slime in it.

Way, way too late to undo the damage.

But at least one less swamp creature will be terrorizing the locals.

So this loser, an alleged pill-popper and racist, turns 21, and what does his father get him? A gun. And what does this loser do with the gun? Kill 9 innocent people in their own church. Because he didn’t like the color of their skin.

Charleston Shooting

I hope this father is tortured with guilt and misery the rest of his rotten life, but somehow, given his enabling–and given the high likelihood that the racism of the son was learned in the home–you have to wonder.

Whatever you do, mourning yet another senseless shooting, is don’t expect to hear the truth on Fox News. They’re blaming this racist hate crime on the “War on Christians.”

Pray for their souls, too.

Make a mockery of justice.

It was no surprise that the Duggar parents decided to get all misty-eyed on Fox News. Megyn could have really pressed them but, of course, she didn’t. As a result, the tears flowed and the blame was assigned everywhere but where it should be.

Because the terrible truth is that Josh Duggar is a serial molester and pedophile. He needs help. His victims need help. His wife needs help. His children need protection.

And TLC needs to pull the plug, pronto.

Dinosaurs had huge bodies and tiny brains. Humans, the opposite—allegedly. Proof that evolution leading to smaller bodies and bigger brains has been upended thanks to yet another dim bulb mama who can’t stand the fact that the mere existence of dinosaurs upends her Biblical beliefs.

“Any proper look at the facts will reveal that dinosaurs simply never existed,” wrote this spectacularly clueless woman on the UK site mumsnet.

Does she watch Fox News regularly for her “facts?”

If you need a laugh, the comments posted under her ranting are worth a visit:

But the level of ignorance from science-deniers has gone way, way beyond the realm of the laughable into the land of the seriously dangerous. When children in the US start dying from measles again, perhaps these clueless moms will wake up.

Until then, they should pay a visit to the Museum of Natural History, and ask a few curators just exactly they knew where to place all those dinosaur bones for those fetching displays.

Not that they’d care for the answers. They prefer the myths.

Speaking of idiots, aka white privilege Fox News, let’s examine some hard data, if you don’t mind, even though numbers crunching is not exactly one of my stellar life skills.

Watch this video and you’ll see what I mean:

In it, a very smart guy named John Green analyzed some data and came up with some unsurprising results—unsurprising to anyone with half a brain, which excludes most of Congress and all of Fox News and their fans. John found that people of color are discriminated against when it comes to jobs, health care, buying/renting a home, and arrests. How many more categories are there?

There shouldn’t be any.

Just when I had given up hope, a lying, cheating, hypocritical, rageful member of Congress did the right thing!

I posted about Staten Island’s pride and joy, Michael Grimm, two days ago. He was the Republican reelected by the brain-dead voters of his district, even though he was under indictment on 20 counts of tax fraud and restaurant-worker abuse.

The illegal immigrant workers, remember, who were, according to Michael and his ilk, not worthy of being allowed in our country—but I guess it was okay for Michael if they were cheap enough labor to be exploited.

Michael said he wouldn’t resign. But—shock!—he did.

Guess John Boehner made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Or maybe Fox News beat him to it.

There are two kinds of honest mistakes: The genuine ones, and the Fox News ones.

A video clip appeared Fox45 News at Ten on local Fox affiliate WBFF showing protestors at a National Justice for All march in Washington D. C. A woman named Tawanda Jones was leading the protesters in a chant: “We won’t stop. We can’t stop. Till killer cops are in cell blocks.” But the clip shown on TV somehow said: “We won’t stop. We can’t stop. So kill a cop.”

Cue predictable outrage from Fox pundits. But Gawker nearly immediately realized the clip had been edited, and they exposed this sham. When caught, WBFF apologized, claiming it was an “honest mistake.”

Excuse me, but how does deliberately editing a video clip morph into an honest mistake?

Fox News realized the gravity of their callousness as they could (and should) lose their license for deliberately falsifying information to be shown on-air. Complaints have been filed with the FCC. Tawanda was interviewed on-air and she was gracious and poignant.

But you have to ask yourself who was responsible for this racist deception and stupidity.

But only according to Andrea Tantaros. In response to the truly heinous torture report—in which the CIA/Dick Cheney engaged in behavior no different from the SS, and found a way to deny it and then justify it—she said, “The United States of America is awesome. We are awesome. But we’ve had this discussion. We’ve closed the book on it. The reason they want the discussion is not to show how awesome we are. It’s to show us how we’re not awesome.”

Oh, we’re awesome, all right.

So awesome that a vice-president can call the shots while his buddy in the Oval Office doesn’t have a clue.

So awesome that a lot of people are justifying this horrific behavior—behavior so egregious that even the torturers said it didn’t work.

So awesome that brain-dead twits like Andrea can get a job on public television.

Oh, wait. She works for Fox News.

I take it all back.

But her shoes are awesome.

How cool is the Pope? Totally cool.

Not only does he like Patti Smith, but when on a plane a week or so ago, returning from a trip to Turkey, Pope Francis called out the kind of Christian extremists fundamentalists who are the first to savage Muslims and claim they’re all terrorists while moaning about the alleged war on Christmas and how their rights are being impinged.

“You just can’t say that,” he stated, “just as you can’t say that all Christians are fundamentalists. We have our share of them [fundamentalists]. All religions have these little groups.”

Except the Christian fundamentalists in this Tea Party, Fox News, Congress, Supreme Court, online trolls country aren’t a little group.

Even if they are little in compassion.

Geraldo Rivera has a long history of saying incendiary and often-boneheaded remarks with a conservative slant on the news network that forgot the news aka Fox. That’s his prerogative, even though he way crossed the line with his racist comments about hoodies after Trayvon Martin was murdered.

Or when he justified posting nude selfies. I mean, ewwww.

But Geraldo has just shown that he can dish it but not take it when he, quite rightly, actually, supported President Obama’s stance on immigration—and received a lot of racist hate for it. The kind of hate directed at brown and black people.

So what did Geraldo do? He whined.

“I’m turning your posts over to Fox News and Facebook authorities because you little pieces of shit hiding in the shadows of your mother’s basement deserve no less,” he Tweeted.

(Um, interjection from the grammar police—mother’s should be mothers’; it’s plural, got it? Thank you.)

Bring on the kettle!
